Kellie R. Hetzel, President and CEO of Aurora Strategies

Mrs. Hetzel earned a Master of Science Degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Tennessee in 1988 and has served the Atlanta community as a Speech Pathologist for 17 years. Mrs. Hetzel honed her professional skills at Emory University where she specialized in Neurogenic Speech/Language and Cognitive Disorders. It was during that time that she began to explore and participate in the utilization of intensive, neurologically based treatment programs for improving her patient's communication skills after stroke, TBI and Parkinson Disease. Today, Mrs. Hetzel applies her interest in neurology and brain function to her work with youth and adults, through intensive learning programs and corporate speech training. In 2000, she was elected President of the Georgia Speech and Hearing Association and Vice President of the American Academy of Private Practice in Speech Pathology and Audiology. She has published articles and lectured on topics as far ranging as "Communication Skills for Career Success", to "Aprosodias in Right Hemisphere Dysfunction" and "Understanding Individuals with Autism and Asperger's Syndrome". Mrs. Hetzel is a certified provider of The Listening Programs, Fast ForWord, Interactive Metronome, Sound Reading Solutions, The Lee Silverman Approach, Lindamood Bell and Matrixx Personality and Learning Styles Assessment. She has received the ACE award for continuing education from the American Speech and Hearing Association and is a founding member of the Special Interest Division for Sound-Based Interventions. In 2005, Mrs. Hetzel received the National Leadership Award for her work as an Honarary Chairman for the National Republican Congressional Committee. She lives in Atlanta with her husband and two children.

Mary Lynne Pattillo Facility Director |
Mary Lynne was born and raised in the Atlanta area and attended college at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. She has several years of experience in the areas of child care, education, and office administration. Mary Lynne has been with Aurora Strategies since January, 2004 and was recently promoted to Facility Director. In July 2007 Mary Lynne was invited as a co-presenter at the ABT International Conference; she and Kellie Hetzel presented "The Importance of The Listening Program® in a Strategic Plan for Academic Success." Mary Lynne loves the opportunity to combine all of her education and experience into the life-changing learning that Aurora Strategies provides its clients. |

Liz Baker Academic Coach |
Liz Baker joined Aurora Strategies in September, 2007. She was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina. She graduated from Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina, earning her Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Special Education. Following college, Liz married and began working as an Early Intervention Service Coordinator with the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind. She then moved to Atlanta in the summer of 2007. Liz has always worked with children of all ages and abilities, and she thoroughly enjoys helping children discover and meet their potential at Aurora Strategies.
