Training that is deliberate and tailored to meet the individual needs can alter the mind and make it's capabilities grow.  Recent research shows that the mind, with mental exercises, causes brain cells called neurons, to branch widely.  That is, they expand and grow.  This branching causes millions of additional connections (synapses) between brain cells.  Dr. Arnold Scheibel, the former director of UCLA' Brain Research Institute, suggests that we think of brain growth as a computer with a bigger memory board that allows us to "do more things more quickly".  The dramatic improvement in mental processing and physical performance that results from working with Aurora Strategie does just that.

My child participated in one of the programs you support during his weekly speech therapy sessions with his old speech therapists, but we didn't see the types of gains you purport.  Why didn't the program work for us?

The brain requires extensive repetition and intensive frequency in order to effectively create new neural pathways, neural re-organization and long-term change.  All Neurotechnology programs will require frequent (3-5 times per week) participation.  Think of learning to ride a bike, learning to swim or play the piano as similar skills.  Daily practice will result in effectively gaining those skills, and will result in what we generally call "muscle memory" and is the reason why we never forget how to ride a bike.  Occasional or infrequent practice may not result in anything, or at best, take a really long time and result in "shaky" skills and a lack of confidence. 

It is not unusual to hear similar stories.  Insurance companies typically do not cover 5 days per week of therapy and many therapists have tried to retrofit the programs into the schedule requirements of insurance companies or traditional therapy schedules.  That is why it is important to work with a center that honors each client by administering the program according to the requirements.
